Eighty-four percent of U.S. adults look to indoor activities provided by park and recreation agencies as a way to promote physical and mental well-being when outdoor conditions are less than ideal. Top indoor activities on hot, cold, rainy or snowy days include:

  • Running or walking
  • Strength training
  • Yoga
  • Swimming

Each month, through a poll of 1,000 U.S. residents focused on park and recreation issues, NRPA Park Pulse helps tell the park and recreation story. Questions span from the serious to the more lighthearted. The survey was conducted by Wakefield Research.
