Renewing your CPSI certification is essential to showing your continued commitment to playground safety and demonstrating your knowledge of the most current safety standards. CPSI certification is valid for three years.

To renew your CPSI certification you must successfully retake the CPSI examThe computer-based exam is administered through PSI Services Professional Testing Company and is available at more than 200 testing centers across the United States and internationally. Applicants will have 90 days from the time of registration to take the CPSI exam. To prepare for the exam, candidates are highly encouraged to read through the CPSI Candidate Handbook. Exam results are provided on-site at the conclusion of the exam. (*Now available in Latin American Spanish upon request.)

CPSIs expiring July 1, 2026, or later — please note, you will have the option to renew in one of two ways:

  • Sitting for and passing the CPSI Exam
OR
  • Successfully completing 2.0 CEUs in playground safety during the 3-year certification cycle and submitting a completed CEU Recertification Application
