NRPA joined forces with Open Road Films and The Nut Job 2 to promote the importance of protecting parks for the release of The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature now playing in theaters nationwide.

Following the events of the first film, The Nut Job 2 brings back Surly and his friends as they try to stop Oakton City's mayor from destroying their home to make way for a dysfunctional amusement park.

Leading up to the August 11 release date, NRPA worked with local park and recreation departments to host a “Protect Your Park Day” in July. Surly worked with kids and their parents to clean up a local park as well as enjoy games, activities and a showing of the first film, The Nut Job.
