Registration for 2016 NRPA Annual Conference, Now Open

Emmy-nominee, Scott Sampson to deliver keynote address

ASHBURN, Va. – May 19, 2016 – Registration for the 2016 National Recreation and Park Association(NRPA) Annual Conference is now open. The conference, which will feature more than 200 education sessions, will be held Oct. 5–8 in St. Louis. Scott Sampson, host of the Emmy-nominated PBS KIDS series Dinosaur Train, will speak to attendees during the conference’s keynote address.

Registration for the 2016 National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Annual Conference is now open. The conference, which will feature more than 200 education sessions, will be held Oct. 5–8 in St. Louis. Scott Sampson, host of the Emmy-nominated PBS KIDS series Dinosaur Train, will speak to attendees during the conference’s keynote address.

In addition to the NRPA general session, there are 11 education tracks that attendees can choose from, including:

  • Citizen/Advocacy
  • Conservation
  • Employee/Volunteer Management
  • Health and Wellness
  • Leadership and Management
  • Planning, Design and Maintenance
  • Professional Development
  • Public Relations/Marketing
  • Recreation Programming
  • Revenue and Customer Service
  • Sports

Attendees can also get on their feet and have an active, lively and memorable education experience at the conference’s Learning Playground. Pre-Conference Workshops and Off-Site Institutes are available as well.

The conference will host a variety of new activities this year, such as: mobile workshops; creativity workshops; an extreme sports demo; an amazing-race style Student Recreation Challenge; and much more. Attendees can also attend the unveiling of St. Louis’ Trojan Park, currently undergoing a complete park makeover as part of the NRPA Parks Build Community initiative.

Early-bird registration for the annual conference ends Aug. 16.
