Give From Your IRA

See your philanthropy at work during your lifetime by giving to NRPA from your IRA. If you turned 70½ on or after Jan. 1, 2020, you can donate up to $100,000 from your traditional IRA, $100,000 each for married couples for a total of $200,000, and avoid taxes on your withdrawal. A donation from your IRA can be used to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD). The donation must be made by December 31 in the tax year in question. Note that the RMD requirement has been waived for 2020, per the CARES Act. You should discuss this and other advanced giving options with your tax advisor. Contact your IRA custodian to complete your donation to NRPA. For more information contact Nury Márquez at (703) 858-2163 or nmarquez@nrpa.org.
