NRPA Salutes Congress for Passage of ‘Lands Package’

(February 26, 2019)

Barbara Tulipane, CAE, president and CEO of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) issued the following statement in response to the passage of the Natural Resources Management Act:

“NRPA is delighted Congress passed the Natural Resources Management Act, also known as the ‘Lands Package,’ helping secure a permanent reauthorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and a guaranteed 40 percent in funding for the LWCF State Assistance Program.

“After years of dedicated advocacy work, the passage of this bill is a big win for our industry, and we thank our members of Congress, especially those who sponsored it, for recognizing the importance of parks and outdoor recreation in communities nationwide.

“We look forward to the president signing this bipartisan piece of legislation — putting us one step closer to making access to great parks a reality for all.”
