NRPA Applauds U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources

(September 13, 2018)

Barbara Tulipane, CAE, president and CEO of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) issued the following statement in response to the passage of a permanent reauthorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund by the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources:

“NRPA applauds the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources, and the leadership of Chairman Rob Bishop (R-UT) and Ranking Member Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), for passing a permanent reauthorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) with a 40 percent guarantee for the state-side assistance program. This historic step forward is a big win for park and recreation agencies that utilize the state and local program to plan, acquire recreational lands and waters, and develop outdoor recreation facilities. NRPA urges Congress to act fast to secure reauthorization for this critical program before it expires Sept. 30.”
