Final Report of Regional Council Task Force

The Regional Council Task Force was appointed by NRPA Past Chair Ron Lehman, Past-President Tom Farrell, Chair Lois Finkelman and President Linda Kotowski in September 2007 with support of the Executive Committee and charged with identifying the role, function and structure of regional councils within NRPA.  The task force met in-person at the NRPA Congress & Exposition in September in Indianapolis, Indiana and has met seven times via teleconference call and on-line.  The Task Force was charged with examining how the regional councils could further the NRPA strategic goals.  The goal was to provide direction and structure to the regional councils which would ensure organizational excellence and support the strategic goals of NRPA.  The focus was to identify the role and purpose/function of the regional councils within the new governance structure of NRPA.  The Regional Council Task Force presented a Draft Report to the Executive Committee at their March 16, 2008 meeting.  Immediately following the meeting, the Regional Council Task Force invited NRPA leadership and regional council members the opportunity to provide feedback on the Draft Report during the open comment period (March 17, 2008 through April 15, 2008). The comments received have been reviewed by the Regional Council Task Force and incorporated into the Final Report submitted to the Executive Committee for their May 9, 2008 meeting.
