The NRPA Business Council brings together park and recreation professionals and business-sector allies to solve common challenges, fuel innovation, further research and promote strong park and recreation systems.

In March, NRPA held the first Business Council meeting of 2024 and welcomed a new member company, Sourcewell, and a new council chair, Chad Kaufman, president of Public Restroom Company.

“We are grateful to our Business Council members and are excited to have Chad Kaufman leading the work of the council this year,” says Kristine Stratton, NRPA president and CEO. “This collaboration and fellowship are vitally important for the future of parks and recreation because of the innovative work of these passionate allies. They respond to emerging challenges facing the field and provide strategic thought partnership to NRPA. We are proud to celebrate the council’s accomplishments from the past year.”

In 2023, council members worked to identify solutions and advocate for parks and recreation. During the 2023 NRPA Annual Conference, they held a joint meeting with the NRPA Board of Directors and provided input on the organization’s new strategic plan. The council also continues to support NRPA’s advocacy work.

“We are looking forward to another productive year of advocating for the field and building on our accomplishments from 2023,” says Kaufman. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this group of dedicated professionals who know firsthand the impact that parks and recreation has on a community.”
