July is Park and Recreation Month

Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month.

Park and Recreation Month is an opportunity to tell our story — local parks and recreation has a very real and important impact in the health and economic vitality of our communities. By uniting through a common theme in July, we are able to see this impact on a large scale via social media, news stories, events and word of mouth.
