Park and Recreation Management is to honor the nation's
outstanding park and recreation agencies. The program gives
national recognition to communities for excellence in long range planning, fiscal resource management, citizen support systems, environmental stewardship, preservation, technological integration, program planning and assessment, professional development,

The National Recreation and Park Association recognizes outstanding programs and inspirational people who remind us daily of the outstanding work that is being done in parks and recreation to
improve Americans' quality of life. Celebrate the impact that parks
and recreation has on our nation by nominating someone you think exemplifies the best of the best.
NRPA award winners include

Parks and recreation professionals who have made a difference in the health, happiness, or heritage of a community across a number of years.

Volunteers or organizations that have made a lasting, positive impression on the face of their community or nation through parks or recreation programs.

Up-and-coming parks and recreation professionals who, in their short tenure in the industry, have made measurable advances within parks and recreation.
-
Media individuals or organizations whose work has inspired support for parks and recreation or expanded core knowledge of the industry.

Volunteers, organizations, corporations, or congressional members whose support for parks and recreation has advanced the NRPA mission to improve the quality of life of Americans and preserve the health, happiness, and heritage of our nation.
NRPA award winners are an inspiration to their profession and to the parks and recreation movement nationwide. Selected by the NRPA Board of Trustees National Awards Committee and renowned authorities in the area of parks, recreation, and leisure, winners are announced annually at the NRPA Congress & Exposition.
All nominators must be current NRPA members. Applications are eligible for up to three years, provided that the nominator updates the application, when appropriate, prior to April 1 of each year.

NRPA Scholarship Opportunities
The 2008 NRPA Young Professional Fellowship Program is now closed
Open to all young professional members in the field of parks and recreation. Each of the eight NRPA regional councils selects one professional. Participants will meet with association leadership and staff to review NRPA Congress & Exposition plans, and will attend various event sessions and trustee and branch meetings with their assigned mentors. Fellowship participants will also network with their regional members following the event. NRPA Diversity Scholarship
The 2008 NRPA Diversity Scholarship Program is now closed
Open to professional, citizen and student members of ethnic minorities. Each year, four professional or citizen members and four student members are selected. Participants will meet with NRPA leadership and will attend various education sessions and board committee meetings at the NRPA Congress & Exposition.
