More than 1 in 4 U.S. adults say it is not easy or they are unsure how to access locally-grown food. Black (71%) and Hispanic (65%) adults are less likely than their white counterparts (76%) to say it is easy to find locally-grown food. Millennials are among those most likely to vote for a mayor, county executive or council member who prioritizes park and recreation funding.

According to the 2022 NRPA Agency Performance Review, 45% of park and recreation agencies operate community gardens and 21% administer or manage farmers markets, increasing healthy, local food options for their community members.
