The City of Eureka, Missouri, celebrates Arbor Day by giving out tree seedlings to the community. Arbor Day is close to Earth Day, but we don’t do anything specifically for Earth Day.

In the spirit of Earth Day observation, Reynolds Nature Preserve is holding its fourth annual Wild Azalea Festival. This springtime family event will be held in Morrow, Georgia, just 15 minutes south of Atlanta on Saturday, April 6. Festival goers will enjoy live animal presentations, guided hikes, environmental education seminars, native plant showcases, hands-on activities, face painting, refreshments, and much more! Local environmental organizations will be on the premises with informational booths to highlight Georgia’s amazing natural science and outdoor opportunities. The event is free to the public with shuttle service available.

The City of Tarpon Springs, along with Anglers for Conservation, is sponsoring Fish Earth Day on Saturday, April 20. This is a Hook Kids on Fishing program for kids aged 6 to 16 along with their parents. The first 80 registered kids get a free rod and reel. Bring your smiles, positive attitudes, and patience along with you! Registration is mandatory by calling the Tarpon Springs Recreation Division at 727.942.5628. Clinics start at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
There will be clinics on casting, conservation, fishing safety, knot tying, and catch-and-release tactics, along with fishing with professional guides and knowledgeable anglers. Volunteers are needed and sponsorships are available by calling Anglers for Conservation at 321.750.3374.
