Ashburn, VA (August 1, 2022)

Connecting Community to Nature and Sustainability: Nature Play and Trails

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the nation’s leading advocate for parks and recreation is proud to partner with Niagara water and Niagara Cares to launch the 2022 Niagara Perk Your Park Contest, an initiative that focuses on park and community space revitalization in Texas and Florida.

After funding two projects in 2021, Niagara is giving communities a chance to cast their votes for this year’s awards. Ten projects have been selected for 2022 and voting to select the three winners begins August 1, 2022.  The Perk Your Park Contest will award $75,000 in funding to the winning projects.

“We are excited to work with Niagara to improve park and community spaces and look forward to see the revitalization that takes place,” said Ayanna Williams, director of community and environmental resilience. “These improvements will help build healthy communities and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of this important work.”

Since 2016, Niagara has partnered with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to revitalize parks and outdoor community spaces across the country.

Voting starts August 1, at NiagaraPerkyourPark.com. Vote for your park once per day until the polls close September 12, 2022.
