NRPA Now Accepting Applications for 2017 National and Gold Medal Awards

Award applications include nominations for Robert W. Crawford Hall of Fame  

Ashburn, Va. (January 10, 2017) — Applications and nominations for the National Recreation and Park Association’s (NRPA) 2017 National Awards, Gold Medal Awards and Robert W. Crawford Hall of Fame are now being accepted. The deadline to submit award applications is March 12, 2017.    

NRPA’s National Awards, which are presented to individuals and agencies in honor of their professional and personal contributions to the field of parks and recreation, include the following:

NRPA and the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA) will present seven Gold Medal Awards this year. Recognizing excellence in park and recreation management, five gold medals will be awarded based upon population, one for armed forces recreation and one for state park systems. NRPA and AAPRA will select one individual for the Robert W. Crawford Hall of Fame honoring their contributions to the advancement of parks and recreation in the U.S.

All National Award and Gold Medal Award winners, including the Robert W. Crawford Hall of Fame inductee, will be recognized during the 2017 NRPA Annual Conference Sept. 26–28 in New Orleans.
