Playgrounds are where children laugh, explore and build confidence through active, imaginative play.
They offer a joyful space for climbing, sliding, swinging and making friends while supporting healthy development. Just as important, 89 percent of US adults say their local playgrounds are safe. Parents with children in the household are even more likely to share that view with 93 percent of parents saying the playgrounds near where they live are safe.
Key Findings:
- Eighty-nine percent of U.S. adults agree the public playgrounds near where they live are safe to use.
- Parents (93%) are more likely than non-parents (86%) to agree the public playgrounds near where they live are safe to use.
- Millennials (93%) are more likely than Gen Zers (82%) to agree the public playgrounds near where they live are safe to use.
- Adults living in the northeast (94%) and west (92%) are more likely than adults in the south (85%) to agree the public playgrounds near where they live are safe to use.
- White adults (91%) are more likely than Hispanic adults (84%) to agree the public playgrounds near where they live are safe to use.
