3 in 4 U.S. adults say they would consider taking actions to help their local community.

The top three actions people would take to help their community include:

  • Cleaning up trash at a local park or trail
  • Volunteering at a shelter, soup kitchen or local farmers market
  • Donating money to provide opportunities for children to attend camp or afterschool activities

Parents (85 percent) and millennials (82 percent) are most likely to consider taking actions to help their local community.

Each month, through a poll of 1,000 U.S. residents focused on park and recreation issues, NRPA Park Pulse helps tell the park and recreation story. Questions span from the serious to the more lighthearted. The survey was conducted by Wakefield Research.
