New America’s Backyard Materials—Feedback Wanted!

October 1, 2012, Department, by National Recreation and Park Association

If you've used the new America's Backyard toolkits to promote your agency's brand to your community, let us know what you think! In August, the first set of the “America’s Backyard: Make Parks Yours” public awareness materials kits were launched. These materials can help you tell the story of how your park and recreation programs and facilities are critical to the livelihood and vitality of your community. The materials allow you to pair vital national statistics and messaging with your local facts and successes to help communicate a compelling, real story about parks and recreation and everything you do for your community.

The first set of materials focuses on getting healthy and fit, timed for use in winter and New Year’s program guides. Whether it’s to support new programming or facilities or just to bring your community up to speed about all of the health services you provide, the health and fitness materials provide you with the valuable information you need, conveniently packaged and ready to roll out immediately.

Let us know how you’ve been using the health materials and what you would like to see in future kits. Your feedback is vital to making the materials kits effective, useful, and easy to customize. And showing us examples of how the materials are being used can provide ideas for other agencies. The next kit, focused on connecting kids and nature, will be available in November. Send your comments, suggestions, and usage examples to customerservice@nrpa.org.

America’s Backyard is supported in part by a generous donation from PlayCore.
