Local park and recreation agencies play a crucial role in providing opportunities and support for older adults to not only improve and maintain their health, but also connect and contribute to their communities.

If your local park and recreation agency is offering new and exciting physical activity, nutrition, mental health, lifelong learning and intergenerational programs,  special events or other programs to older adults in your community, we want to hear from you! Each year between February and August, NRPA hosts the, How Do you Promote Healthy Aging in Parks? contest where you can submit stories about your older adult programs and the impact they have on the participants.

The contest is currently closed, but please check back February 2020 for the next round. Don’t miss your chance to win a $50 gift card and bragging rights! Check out the past submissions

Cheers to your continued efforts to promote and encourage happy, healthy, and active lifestyles among older adults.
