Conference Code of Conduct

NRPA is dedicated to providing a safe, productive and welcoming environment for all of its in-person and virtual participants and NRPA staff. Please review and keep the NRPA Code of Conduct in mind during Conference.

 

Connecting to Conference

All conference attendees have access to all virtual conference content, including the livestreams, on-demand sessions, and the virtual poster library.

All virtual sessions are available to registrants on the virtual conference home page, as well as accessible through their NRPA online learning account. Virtual attendees must be logged in to their NRPA account in order to access the sessions. If you have difficulty logging in or accessing your account, please contact customerservice@nrpa.org.

 Will CEU credits be offered for the virtual sessions? How do I obtain my CEUs?

Yes! Attendees can earn a maximum of 1.4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) based on the number of sessions attended during the 2022 NRPA Annual Conference virtual events and by viewing archived sessions on-demand before November 30, 2022. Attendees can earn 0.04 CEUs for each Speed Session and 0.1 CEUs for each Education Session. Attendees are required to attend entire sessions and complete session evaluations to obtain CEU credit. Note: Not all sessions are eligible for CEU credit. A maximum of 1.4 CEU credits are available for the 2022 NRPA Annual Conference.

Session evaluations must be completed to earn CEU credit. Evaluations are located in the Resources section of each session on the NRPA Conference Events app and become available once the session has ended. Additional CEU credits may be earned after the in-person conference (September 18-24) by watching recorded education sessions and completing session evaluations through the app through November 30, 2022.

 

When will my CEU appear on my transcript?

Sessions attended during the 2022 NRPA Annual Conference (September 18-24) with completed evaluations will be uploaded to your NRPA profile no later than October 31st.  Additional earned credits by viewing on-demand sessions will be added to your NRPA profile every three weeks through the end of the year.

 

How long will conference registrants be able to access and view the on-demand virtual conference offerings?

On-demand sessions can be viewed and evaluated from September 20 to November 30, 2022.

 

How do I fill out an evaluation?

  • Navigate to the conference app Schedule and select the session title. You may want to search for the session title or click “view past sessions” to find sessions that have already concluded.
  • Select the session you want to evaluate.
  • Click Evaluate this Session (this will open a new browser window)
  • In order for us to link your CEU credits to your NRPA transcripts, you will need to complete the check-in information. You will only need to do this one time. This information will auto-fill for future evaluations.*
  • Please add the following information:
    • First and last name
    • Email address (the one used for registration)
    • Your unique ID. This can be your badge number, your registration record ID (found in your registration confirmation email) or your NRPA account number.
    • Example of badge number: 62345678 (8-digits typically beginning with a 5 or 6)
    • Example of registration ID:  AZ1BCD2 (contains both letters and numbers)
    • NRPA account number: 321123 (typically 5 or 6 digits)
    • Let us know which of these unique IDs you used
  • Click Check-In Now
  • Click Done
  • Click Evaluate this Session
  • Complete the 4-question evaluation
  • Click Confirm & Submit
  • Close the browser and return to the app

 *Your information will not carry over if you have your phone set to not cache

 

Technology

Will I need specific technology to attend virtual sessions?

As long as you are able to log in to your NRPA account, you should be able to access the virtual conference home page, which lists all virtual sessions. If you have difficulty logging in or accessing your account, please contact customerservice@nrpa.org.

 

How do I attend the live-streamed conference sessions?

You’ll attend a livestreamed conference session the same way that you attend any NRPA Online Learning event. Locate one of the 18 livestreamed sessions listed on the virtual conference home page. The link to watch the session will go live approximately 15 minutes before the session begins. Simply click the link to participate in the session. 

 

What time zone is being used for the livestreamed virtual sessions?

The conference schedule/agenda, including the times listed for livestreams, will be based on the local time in Phoenix, Mountain Standard Time (MST).
What time is it in Phoenix right now? 

 

Will live content also be recorded and available after the event?

Yes, all 18 livestreamed sessions will be available for on-demand viewing within 48 hours of the live session’s conclusion. You can access these on-demand sessions via the same path you navigated to view the live sessions. All on-demand sessions will be available to view through November 30, 2022.

 

How can I connect directly with other virtual attendees and speakers?

  • Chat on livestreamed sessions! You will also be able to ask questions of the presenters through the chat during the session. Questions will be posed to the presenter(s) by a moderator from both the in-person and virtual audiences.
  • Interact on the discussion boards for each virtual session or on the virtual poster library.
  • Visit the conference app for a full list of speaker information and social links to connect after the sessions.

 

Can I attend the event using my smartphone or tablet?

While the site is enabled for mobile devices, including smartphone and tablet, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer for an optimal user experience.

 

What internet browser should I use?

For best performance and compatibility, we recommend using Google Chrome. While you may also use Firefox or Microsoft Edge, we do not recommend using Internet Explorer for this event.

 

What can I do in advance to prepare for the live virtual event?

Step 1: Perform a browser test. If you see the video and hear music that means you passed and can close that window.

Step 2: Please review the following Technical Requirements and be sure your system and networks are up to date.

If you are on a network that uses a firewall or VPN, you can test your access in advance to ensure our software will not be blocked by these items using this site, we highly recommend disconnecting from any VPN connection.

 

What system and browser requirements should my device meet in order for me to view the livestreamed sessions?

Minimum System Requirements: 2.0Ghz Processor or faster 4 GB RAM (Greater than 4 GB is a benefit)
Windows 10 or later Mac OS X 10.14 or later iOS 12 or greater

Wired Ethernet Internet Connection (highly recommended)
Wifi is not recommended. The problem with WiFi is signal strength can vary causing bandwidth to increase or decrease.  We recommend a wired connection. A wired connection gives a consistent signal and consistent bandwidth. A wired connection provides a better experience. Audio (sound) is projected through your computer speakers. Be sure your computer is equipped with speakers or the room the conference is being broadcast is equipped with speakers so you can hear the presenters.

Minimum Browser Requirements: Browser must support HTML-5. To detect your browser version, run https://whichbrowser.net/ Chrome, Firefox and Edge are continuously updated by their publishers. For the best experience, use the most current version.

Other helpful tips include:

  • Connect to the internet using a network cable rather than using a wireless network.
  • Disconnect other devices in your household from your wireless network.
  • Disconnect from virtual private network (VPN) or corporate networks (if possible).
  • Close any unnecessary applications.
  • Refrain from browsing the internet, streaming media and/or downloading large files while participating in the event.

 

I am having trouble streaming audio, I can't hear the speaker through my computer speakers, the streaming stopped...what do I do? The slides/video webcast is not loading...what do I do?

If you are not able to hear any audio through your computer speakers first check to make sure your speakers are not muted or turned off. Check also to see if your web browser is not muted as well. The next step is to refresh your screen by pressing the F5 key on your keyboard or clicking the “refresh” button in your web browser.
