The National Recreation and Park Association and Sagamore Publishing, LLC, are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement to settle their dispute regarding the publication of the Journal for Leisure Research, Schole, and the Therapeutic Recreation Journal. The settlement, which resolves all contractual issues, serves the goal of continuing the scholarly publications.

“We are proud of the journals and their contribution to the park and recreation field. The goal of all parties has always been to ensure the integrity and academic independence that the journals were founded on continues. We are very happy we are able to come together to find a solution that addresses the concerns of all. With the continued support of the academic community, both JLR and Schole will maintain their strong stature and reputation as they promote leisure scholarship.” Barbara Tulipane, President and CEO, NRPA. “Sagamore Publishing looks forward to continuing to serve the educational needs of the therapeutic-recreation field through its publication of TRJ.” Peter Bannon, President, Sagamore Publishing.

Under the settlement NRPA will publish the JLR and Schole, but the TRJ will be published by Sagamore.
