Run, Jump, & Throw With HERSHEY’S Track & Field Games!

HERSHEY’S Track & Field Games is the longest-running youth activity program of its kind in North America, and a great entry point for kids ages 9-14 to get active and become engaged in a healthy lifestyle. The program teaches basic running, jumping and throwing skills, all the while stressing FUN rather than competition.

How does the program work?

Throughout the year, local track meets are hosted by park and recreation agencies, schools, youth-serving organizations and community groups across the U.S. and Canada. Athletes then advance from local to district meets (where applicable) and/or state/provincial meets. Winners are placed in a regional pool of state/provincial finalists and become eligible to qualify for the North American Final, which takes place each August in Hershey, Pa.

Encouraging Physical Activity

In addition, Hershey’s Track & Field Games offers a free turn-key program for parks, schools and youth-serving organizations to promote youth physical activity, youth development skills and community volunteerism. For example, schools can teach Run, Jump & Throw skills in their physical education classes and, in turn, reinforce these skills by partnering with their local Parks & Recreation to organize and host a meet.
