Track and Field

Hershey’s Track & Field Games was created over 30 years ago to promote physical fitness in a fun atmosphere for youth ages 9-14. The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) serves as a key partner with Hershey’s Track & Field Games, in delivering this resource to enhance the awareness of track and field as a component of PLAY to achieve a greater number of active, healthy youth engaged in sports and the outdoors.

Hershey’s Track & Field Games is the largest youth track and field program of its kind, hosted by park and recreation agencies, schools, youth serving organizations and community groups, in the United States and Canada. Track and Field meets take place in local communities throughout the year. Athletes then advance to a district meet (where applicable) and/or state/provincial meets. Winners are placed in a regional pool of state/provincial finalists and become eligible to qualify for the North American Final which takes place each summer in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Each of the regional team participants receives an all-expense-paid trip to Hershey for four days of fun-filled events, including the North American Final.

Local Coordinators who host a meet are eligible to receive a Hershey’s FastTrack to Sports education tool kit, complete with an instructional DVD, lesson plans and best practice tips from track and fields legends (while supplies last).
