But what happens when school lets out? For years parks and recreation agencies have delivered healthy, nutritious food and provided comprehensive nutritional education programs through summer programs—feeding about 1.1 million children each year. Now, with the help of a $2.1 million grant from the Walmart Foundation, NRPA will support summer feeding programs of 15 park and recreation agencies each year for two year.
