NRPA Save Our Parks! PSA Contest

Winners Announced!

In March 2010, NRPA announced the launch of the 2010 Save Our Parks! PSA Contest.  NRPA encouraged all interested individuals and agencies to create a 30-second PSA with the theme, Save Our Parks!  What would happen if parks disappeared?  How would the lack of parks and recreation facilities affect America’s communities in the short or long-term?  All entrants were required to submit an online entry form and post their PSAs to YouTube by June 1, 2010.

We are pleased to present the winner and two runner-ups, which were chosen for their messaging, creativity, and entertainment value!

**Grand Prize Winner**

City of O’Fallon, Mo.

“What If?”

First Runner Up

City of Novi, Mich.

“Where will our dreams grow?”

Second Runner Up

Aurora Parks, Recreation & Open Space, Colo.

“Lose Your Parks…Lose Your Quality of Life.”

As the Grand Prize Winner, O'Fallon received a free one-year membership to NRPA and a free full registration package for the 2010 Congress & Exposition in Minneapolis, Minn.  All three PSAs will be played publicly at the Congress Opening General Session and featured in the August 2010 edition of Parks & Recreation.

NRPA extends its sincere gratitude to all of our 2010 participants, who have helped spread a message throughout the country about the importance of parks and recreation.
