Become Compliant and Save: Accessibility Audits Discount Program

June 1, 2013, Department, by Eric Hamp

Is your agency compliant?By now, everyone is familiar with the 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) revised regulations for Title II, which applies to state and local government services, as well as the extension to January 31, 2013, regarding existing pools and access requirements. These regulations may require you to go through extensive evaluation and action to become compliant. An obvious first step is to evaluate your program’s current state, or to conduct an access audit. A thorough evaluation may require specialized knowledge and a very broad range of expertise. If your agency doesn’t meet the revised ADA regulations as of March 15, 2012, you are at risk for financial penalties and possible legal action. However, you’re not alone in your endeavor to become compliant — NRPA is here to help.

NRPA has partnered with Recreation Accessibility Consultants, LLC, to provide members with the following discounts:
• A five percent discount on all accessibility audits and services
• An additional one percent discount per $100,000 of work, up to a maximum discount of nine percent
