NRPA Statement on New York City Tragedy

Barbara Tulipane, CAE, president and CEO of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) issued the following statement in response to the recent tragedy in New York City:

"NRPA is deeply saddened by the tragic event along New York City's Hudson River Greenway that left several people dead and countless others injured. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.

“As a country, terror and hate do not define us. 

“Together, we will not let these senseless acts of violence take away from the freedoms and opportunities that our parks and recreation areas provide."
