The Future is Resilient Parks

Location TBD
Postponed until January 24-26, 2018

In the wake of recent events,  this topics deserves a much deeper dive than just one day. Therefore, we are postponing this Innovation Lab until January 24-26, 2018, when we can devote additional time and bring in additional partners, speakers and resources to help our members and people who care about resiliency with new tools and fresh thinking. Please save those dates and look out for additional information on location and venue in the coming weeks.

The Future is Resilient Parks Lab will focus on forward thinking planning and park development strategies that cities can use to maximize the value of their parks and opens spaces to combat the effects of rising sea levels, flooding and more. To highlight how leading cities are integrating parks into their resilience efforts:

  • Attendees will work together to discuss challenges and opportunities with resiliency and help problem solve for issues from sea level rise, drought, flood, extreme weather and more.
  • Participate in a discussion with architects, landscape architects, engineers and other thought leaders to talk about innovative new designs.
  • Through site visits, see how the city is working to maximize the value of parks and open space.
