The Power of Many

Joe Kneip Park
Throughout May, we asked if you could give up one coffee for a park. It was a small ask, and for those of you who decided to take the challenge, the power of many became apparent.

Generally, $5 may not go far, but when a network of 50,000 park and recreation professionals came together along with our supplier community, big things happened.

Now that the Fund Your Park campaign for Joe Kneip Park in North Las Vegas is complete, we’re starting to see a dream come to fruition. Through our fundraising efforts, a great park will now be a reality for this community of 4,000 children and their families. More than $400,000 in donations and in-kind materials were donated to transform this park. This will support a new playground, a fitness zone, shade structures, lighting, surfacing, new restrooms, signage, picnic areas, a new soccer field and even a splash.

A very big thank you to all of our sponsors: Playworld, Greenfields, Shade ‘N Net, SunPorts, FlexGround, iZone Imaging, Public Restoom Company, WhiteWater West, BCI Burke, Mirimichi Green and Musco Lighting. They truly stepped up to make this happen!

Joe Kneip Park was selected as this year’s Parks Build Community project held in conjunction with the NRPA Annual Conference. This national initiative demonstrates the transformative value of parks on the health and vitality of communities across America. This year, we launched the Fund Your Park crowdfunding campaign to meet funding gaps and share our vision to build and revitalize parks as thriving gathering places for youth, families and adults.

Thank you for helping make the Joe Kneip Park revitalization a reality.
