Learn more about the Academic Accreditation program through the COAPRT Trainings

Online Training Opportunities:
The Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) adopted new academic program standards on January 1, 2013. This webinar is designed specifically to train a minimum of one faculty representative of programs scheduled for accreditation/re-accreditation within the next two years. The webinar focuses on the preparation of the self-study and all program documentations addressing the COAPRT 2013 academic program standards and the logistics of hosting an accreditation visit. Programs scheduled for accreditation/re-accreditation within the next two years are required to have a minimum of one faculty member complete COAPRT training.

The Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) adopted new academic program standards on January 1, 2013. All approved visitors must have attended a COAPRT 2013 Standards Training before they can be assigned to a visitation team. All prospective visitors are required to attend a COAPRT training.The webinar focuses specifically on how to review a program's self-study with emphasis on the new standards, how to conduct a visit, preparation of a visitation report and the responsibilities and expectations of a visitor.

The Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) adopted new academic program standards on January 1, 2013. This will be the first session offered specifically to train visitors qualified to participate in visitations under the new standards. All veteran and prospective visitors are required to attend regardless of the date of their most recent training. Programs scheduled for accreditation/re-accreditation visitations within the next two years are required to have a minimum of one a faculty member complete visitor training. This requirement and COAPRT's institution of a seven-year, standard review cycle, result in a need for in excess of 50 qualified visitors for the 2014-15 academic years.

Learning Outcomes:

 

  1. Assess programs employing the COAPRT 2013 academic program standards.
  2. Host, lead, or participate in an accreditation visitation.
  3. Prepare and/or review all documentation relevant to visitations, from self-studies to visitation reports.
