Network Awards

The National Recreation and Park Association recognizes that our members and supporters work hard to advance parks, recreation and environmental conservation efforts that advance the quality of life for all people. Our awards programs highlight the efforts of those who go above and beyond to make a difference in the community. Nominate one of your network members for a prestigious Network Award.

The 2012 NRPA Network Awards Program application process is closed. The 2012 NRPA Network Awards will be presented at the 2012 NRPA Congress and Exposition, October 16-18, in Anaheim, California.

 

Citizen Trailblazer Award
The Citizen Trailblazer Award recognizes a citizen who has been a member of NRPA for eight (8) years or less and has helped to progress the parks and recreation movement through their volunteer, advocacy, or fundraising efforts.
 

Distinguished Advocate Award
The Distinguished Advocate Award is presented to a citizen volunteer who demonstrates outstanding leadership, counsel, contributions or other effort to assist a park and recreation agency in its programs or project.

 

Distinguished Professional Award
The Distinguished Professional Award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field through their leadership, research, advocacy, community outreach, and program development.

 

Rising Professional Award
The Rising Professional Award is presented to an individual who has shown qualities and skills needed to attain positions of leadership in the field through participation in professional organizations, such as NRPA, their contributions to advancing the field, and their creativity in creating or managing programs.

 

Outstanding Graduate Student Award
The Outstanding Graduate Student Award is presented to an outstanding graduate student in recognition of continuous extraordinary community service or contributions to the field.

 

Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award
The Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award is presented to an outstanding undergraduate student in recognition of continuous extraordinary community service or contributions to the field.

 

Outstanding Student Club Award
The Outstanding Student Club Award is presented to an outstanding student club in recognition of continuous extraordinary service to promote the park and recreation field both on campus and in the community.

The 2011 Network Awards were presented during the Best of the Best Reception at Congress in Atlanta, GA. Congratulations to all 2011 Network Award Recipients!
