2008 Walking Program

 In 2008, 20 communities spread through 14 states, offered a 10-week walking program as part of "taking steps" to a healthier lifestyle. Kick-off events will helped participants set goals, learn how to use a free step-counter and meet others who may welcome a walking "buddy." By the end of the 10 weeks, over 1000 individuals had completed the program with many seeing permanent improvements to their health.
