Help NRPA develop curriculum, become an
instructor, or set minimum requirements so that others have the same
opportunities and meet a set of standards that better themselves as well as the
park and recreation field as a whole. Learn more about the NRPA education

Council on
Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism, and Related Professions
(COAPRT): The national body that accredits Baccalaureate programs in
parks, recreation, tourism, and related professions.
Commission
for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA): The
national body that accredits park and recreation agencies.
National Certification Board: The national oversight body
for the administration and supervision of a national certification program for
recreation, park resources, leisure services, and other related park and
recreation personnel.
Education Training and Professional
Development Committee: Advise the association and staff on education,
training and professional development programs within the Knowledge and Learning
Department.
Research Advisory Committee: Serve as a
conduit between researchers, academics, professionals, and the general public
with regard to existing and proposed research.
Aquatic Facility
Operator Certification Committee: Act as the oversight body for the
implementation of the Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification program and
future certification related to aquatics.
Aquatic Facility
Operator Curriculum Committee: Create and maintain the curriculum for
the Aquatic Facility Operator training course based on the Aquatic Facility
Operator manual.
Aquatic Facility Operator Examination
Committee: Develop AFO examination questions, monitor and evaluate
test results, modify and improve test questions, assist in updating criteria and
conducting the job analysis used as the basis for the exam.
Certified Park and Recreation Professional Certification
Committee: Provide guidance to the NCB related to the CPRP
certification program and practices to develop consistent standards for the CPRP
certification program based on the national standards.
Certified
Park and Recreation Professional Examination Committee: Develop
examination questions, monitor and evaluate test results, modify and improve
test questions, assist in updating criteria and conducting the job analysis used
as the basis for the exam.
Certified Playground Safety Inspector
Certification Committee: act as the oversight body for implementation
of the Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification program and future
certification programs related to playground safety.
Certified
Playground Safety Inspector Curriculum Committee: Create and maintain
the curriculum for the Certified Playground Safety Inspector training course
based on the ASTM Standard F1487 and CPSC Handbook publication #325.
Certified Playground Safety Inspector Examination
Committee: develop examination questions, monitor and evaluate test
results, modify and improve test questions, assist in updating criteria and
conducting the job analysis used as the basis for the exam.
Certification Advocates: Coordinate with NRPA staff for
scheduling and planning speaking opportunities with conferences, universities,
and agencies to communicate the benefits of being certified.
Directors School Instructor: Provide the highest possible
level of practical and academic course instruction, have presentation
experience, and evaluate, recommend and guide the development of the School
curriculum.
